If you’re at all like me, the coming of winter months means the darkening of under eye circles. It’s a gift, what can I say?! I mean, doesn’t everyone LOVE eye bags???? Insert an eyebrow raise here.
I’ve spent the summer months experimenting with concealers to get ready for the cold seasons that are upon us now, and I can honestly say that no two concealers do the same job. While it may seem strange that I work with 3 different concealers nearly every single day, there is definitely a reason why. So why does the title of this post capture 4 different brands, you ask? Well, not all reviews are good or you are being lied to.
Enter the only poor review of this post – sorry Urban Decay. For my whole makeup life, I have obsessed over and loved pretty much everything that Urban Decay has done. Their pigments melt my soul. Their lip products were the first I started collecting. Their foundation brings out the best in my natural face. But the Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer just has not impressed me. Now, I know in the makeup world I could get a lot of grief for saying this. This concealer in particular seems to be a favorite across the masses.
While I can see the appeal must be that this concealer does have a soft formulation and is quite blendable, I did expect a higher coverage. I mean, it’s CONCEALER! It should hide something. But for me, I found this concealer to reveal more than it concealed. It did nothing for under eye pigmentation, nothing for blemishes, nothing for dark spots, and no glitter surprises. Glitter makes everything better, after all, and had there been a glitter sighting I might have forgiven Urban Decay for this lack luster product. Now, I’m not here to change your mind if you swear by this product. But in the scheme of concealers I’m about to discuss, this one just comes in at the bottom of the barrel. Sorry, Urban Decay. We can still be friends. It’s not you, it’s me.
Now, here is where I encourage everyone to swipe right. These lovelies have everything I’m looking for in a concealer mate. And while you don’t need to rush out and try all 3 together, I highly encourage using multiple concealers in general to get a flawless finish that can’t be achieved by just one product. Sorry, but Picasso didn’t use one shade in any of his work, did he? And if Picasso had a long night out, a stress breakout, or simply wanted a natural highlight to accentuate those cheek bones these are definitely concealers he would add to his kit.
Why This Rocks:
- Pigment – think brightener and concealer in one
- Coverage for the coverage type of girls and guys
- Soft formula that blends easily
- Gets the job done on dark under eye circles (but will not eliminate those thick bags, so get some sleep!)
What Doesn’t Rock As Much:
- Price – unless your appreciate all things Dior. I mean, sometimes you have to pay for quality. It is what it is.
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer
Why This Rocks:
- Coverage to THE MAX – if you are looking for a product that conceals and makes bags disappear completely, you have met your concealer soul mate. Seriously, there is truth in the name of this bad boy
- A little goes a LONG way – we are talking smaller than pea-size here for all day wear
- Actual benefits – use this long enough and you will notice the under eye area become noticeably healthier
What Doesn’t Rock As Much:
- Not for blending beginners – you will need a brush or beauty blender for this. And a quick hand.
- Set that product! This is not for quick and on the go girls or guys. You must set with a setting powder or welcome to a concealer Slip N’ Slide
MAKE UP FOR EVER Lift Concealer
Why This Rocks:
- Not only will this lift an under eye bag or several, but the formulation works wonders on toning down the massive appearance and distinct redness of a blemish
- Dark spots, you have met your match
- A legit highlighter. We are talking as good as MAC’s Prep N’ Prime in “Radiant Rose” with even more coverage
What Doesn’t Rock As Much:
- Secret gem – it’s likely that you won’t find this in stores, unless you are at a MAKE UP FOR EVER store. This is a secret find, but it can be attained at Sephora’s online store. And you know what? That still rocks because everyone loves finding out a juicy secret!
While I can easily get by with just one of these concealers, I do find myself reaching for at least 2 of them each day. But the great news is that the one thing NONE of these concealers will do is cover the real beauty. That’s the thing about a great concealer – when you find one that likes you for you it works with what you already got and only enhances the greatness. Enjoy, lovelies!

The It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye concealer has been on my Ulta shopping list for awhile now. Glad to hear it is cdubdoll approved. What setting powder works best?

Yeah! I say everyone needs to have the Laura Mercier translucent setting powder for sure. But if you have that contour kit, your lighter shades like Banana will work just fine! 💟
